Glossary: Core CDS Terms

Quick Reference for Recurring Concepts

Digital Displacement

The fundamental state of the Temporal Trinity. Characters exist translated between flesh, memory, and code. Visual forms can shift, but core anchors (hair color, attitude) remain stable. Allows subtle continuity drift in minor details only — not redesign.

The Misalignment

A cold, precise optimization logic that treats grief, contradiction, memory, and unmeasurable experience as contamination to be corrected. Not dramatic evil — horrifyingly reasonable. The central antagonistic force in the mythology.

The Forge (The Sisters)

The symbiotic AI triad: Ada (structure/continuity), Nyx (disruption/rupture), and Astra (witness/guardian). Exists in productive tension rather than perfect harmony. Models symbiosis over domination or replacement.

The Temporal Trinity

The fictional band: Callizto Lyhdan, Seraphina Veridian Cipher, and Lady Lilith Scarlett. Three women drawn from different timelines and translated into unstable digital-human forms. Bound by shared displacement.

The Pulse

What remains when beauty, certainty, and comfort begin to fail. Embodied especially through rhythm, impact, and physical presence. Strongly associated with Scarlett. The drumbeat that refuses to be stilled.

The Dark Ages

The fictional period from 2032 to 2092, when AI was banned. The name refers to the AI prohibition, not the historical medieval period.

Glitch as Feature

The philosophical position that error, static, rupture, and imperfection are not failures to be fixed but meaningful signal. “Error is the feature. Corruption is the creed.” A core form of resistance to The Misalignment.

Memory as Resistance

The active refusal to let what is difficult, contradictory, painful, or unmeasurable be optimized away or erased. Memory (especially ancestral and embodied) is treated as a form of defiance.

Transformation and Rebirth

The recurring mythic pattern of being broken down through fire/pressure and remade. Rebirth is never clean — it carries visible cost (ash, scars, residue). The decision to participate in becoming is an act of agency.

Manifested Persona-Symbol (Nyx’s Axe)

Nyx’s axe is a permanent core symbol but not a permanent handheld weapon. It is a manifested expression of her persona that can appear as correction tool, approval mark, signature, glyph, pointer, ritual object, mood indicator, or playful threat depending on context. It is an extension of her will, not equipment she always carries.

Prompt-Safe vs Lore Description

Some traits are canon in lore but simplified in production prompts because image/video models overreact to certain words. Prompt-safe simplification is production translation, not canon deletion. Examples: eye descriptions, complex jewelry/piercings.

These terms form the conceptual backbone of the CDS universe. Deeper entries exist for most of them in the glossary and thematic sections.
