A caretaker suggests a better lock. A teacher suggests boredom.

“Better lock,” the caretaker said.
“Then they’ll photograph the lock,” Oren said.
“Policy.”
“Boredom is a policy. Try it.”
The caretaker, who had worked in the building when it was two other things, nodded once.
He oiled the hinge instead.
The door opened like a door, for neighbors, and not like an exhibit.
