A fictional narrative within Callizto Dark Symphony.

Joss coiled the rope the way his hands had learned before terminals.

Bee asked why it was thicker than the drawing.

“It remembers water.”

“Like you.”

“Less complaining.”

Municipal Water’s woman passed, counted the crate heights, and did not write them.

Bee added a pencil line to the tide table: ROPE KNOWS FIRST.

Joss left it.

Diagrams were a starting position.
